How It Ends stream The story revolves around Will (Theo James), a lawyer, and his girlfriend Samantha (Sam) (Kat Graham), a couple who are expecting their first child. Will visits Sam's parents in Chicago, Tom (Forest Whitaker) and his wife, intending to ask permission to marry Sam, while she travels back to Seattle. Tom is a retired US marine who is not on friendly terms with Will. They have dinner during which Tom offers to help Will buy a house. Will and Tom get into an argument and Will leaves, having considered it a bad time to raise the prospect of a wedding. The next day, Will is expecting to travel to Seattle to meet with Sam but while he is on the phone with her they hear a rumbling sound, and Sam relays to him that something is not right. She tells him that she feels scared before the phone line disconnects. He tries to recall her but phone lines appear to be down. Will goes to Chicago O'Hare airport to depart for his flight to Seattle.
